Submissions to the 21st Jeonju International Film Festival’s International Competition Now Open!

The Jeonju International Film Festival (Jeonju IFF) will be holding its 21st festival from April 30 (Thursday) to May 9 (Saturday), and have started accepting entries for submissions. Jeonju IFF (Festival Director LEE Joondong) will accept submissions for the 21st Jeonju IFF until Monday, January 20, 2020.

A first or second feature from a director(s) that was produced post January of 2019 are eligible, while the film should have a minimum pre-condition of Asian Premiere, which means the film should not have been presented in any Asian countries and won’t be before the 21st Jeonju IFF. All genres are allowed to enter including fiction, documentary, experimental, and animation, while the running time should be at least 40 minutes.

All submissions will be reviewed by a programmer or a selection committee before determining the film’s participation at the festival. Films selected will be screened during the duration of the 21st Jeonju IFF. The winner of the International Competition section will be announced at the awards ceremony, and they will be awarded with the prize money, a trophy, and other benefits.

Grand Prize winners from previous years include From Tomorrow On, I Will by Ivan MARKOVIC and WU Linfeng, The Heiresses by Marcelo MARTINESSI, Rifle by Davi PRETTO, Sand Storm by Elite ZEXER, and Poet on a Business Trip by JU Anqi among many others.
