Born in 1971 in Japan. He began his career in film while attending Tokyo University with debut short film [#i_]Kanashii Dake[_i#](1994), which screened at the 17th Pia Film Festival in 1994. After graduating, he enrolled in the film directing course at AFI. He made his directing debut in 2003 with horror TV series. He is a versatile film maker in various genres and mediums, with credits including [#i_]Your Honor!, Softball Boys[_i#](2010), [#i_]What Girls Want[_i#](2009).
