While I was writing They All Lie I dedicated myself to read Shakespeare’s work. Due to my affection towards seeing people talking in films -my own enjoyment in the sound of words and the look of gestures on screen- I thought that making a film based on one of his play may be interesting. I was particularly fond of As you like it, specially because of her leading character, Rosalind. I discovered in her a perfect role for Maria Villar, an actress with whom I enjoy working everytime. Moreover, the possibility of a comedic and baroque plot was taken as a personal calling that I could not resist for long. So, together with the difficulties and prejudices of making cinema with a theatre play, I was soon enough convinced that Shakespeare belonged to us, to the Jeonju Digital Project! However, Rosalind is not only around this Shakespearean girl, but around the rhythm of another girl, the actress who plays Rosalind. The result of these two rhythms-that of character and that of the actress- is now to been seen. The task may have not been the easiest one but we sure enjoyed it much. Now we can only pass it on by heading towards a new challange: Twelveth night. So, this story is to be continued… .
