Born in 1940 in Minnesota, USA. Gilliam is a screenwriter, director, animator, actor and member of the Monty Python comedy troupe. He is the only "Python" not born in Britain, but he gained British citizenship in 1968. He was first known for the bizarre animation sequences in Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969) in which in used cutout pictures and photographs. He is also known for directing several films including Brazil (1985), The Adventures of Baron Munchausen(1989) and The Fisher King (1991).
