At a tobacco plantation in Kentucky, cars, houses, farms and storehouses are left in disrepair. They are slowly worn out under the blazing Summer Sun. Tall Teenagers wandering there are Jess and Moss. Moss is a few years younger than Jess. This film is centered on their own sad and painful memories like in other Teen films, and it implies how important is the healing process as embracing each other rather than disclosing one’s wound that grew within one. Clay Jeter, the director, portrays a memory and secret of the young boy and lady, who seems to be ill-assorted, tuning in snippets of audiotapes and records. It could be wearisome to be with only one person, same as observing a microorganism with a microscope, but this experience will develop a stronger bond compared with either a whirlwind romance or actions. Shared warm memories are melted in the impressionistic images: a moss-covered bottle, varying colors of the sky from pink to sapphire, verdant trees, and derelict buildings. All of these are poetic sceneries and power to evoke our nostalgic feelings. (Han Song Yi)
