Graduated in 1998 with a degree in Visual Communications from the University of the Philippines' College of Fine Arts. After working as a commercial storyboard and conceptual artist, Luis shifted careers into the more story-oriented craft of animation in 1999 as a 3D artist and animator for ImagineAsia Inc. In 2001, Luis won the opportunity to write and direct two animated short films: Pawn and Escape. Pawn was accepted for screening at the 2002 Hiroshima Film Festival as part of the “Best of the World” category. Presently, Luis is the writer and director of Thaumatrope Animation's first, full length, 3D animated, feature film, RPG Metanoia.
