Born in 1977, Reykjavik, Iceland. Runar RUNARSSON made his feature film debut at the Directors Fortnight in Cannes Film Festival 2011 with [#i_]Volcano[_i#] and was nominated for the Camera d’Or. Runarsson was Nominated for the Academy Awards in 2006 with [#i_]The Last Farm[_i#](2004), the Palme d’Or in Cannes Film Festival 2008 and the European Film Awards in 2008 with [#i_]2 Birds[_i#](2007). [#i_]Sparrows[_i#] is his second feature film.
