Born in 1945, Liverpool, UK. His first three films; [#i_]Children[_i#](1976), [#i_]Madonna and Child[_i#](1976) and [#i_]Death and Transfiguration[_i#],(1993) became known as his Trilogy. DAVIES adapted and directed [#i_]The House of Mirth[_i#](2010) from the Edith WHARTON novel. He directed a documentary about Liverpool entitled Of [#i_]Time And The City[_i#](2008) and [#i_]Deep Blue Sea[_i#](2011).
