One summer day, a boy and a girl meet in a secluded park. Amongst the first date excitement they are clumsy, awkward, but affectionate to each other. The two walk, chitchat about their life, and play games at the park. Night at the park has a different atmosphere. As the sun goes down so does their relationship. The Park is a film that stages the languor radiant summer day that focuses on everything from nature, weather, to the scenery. Director Manibel, known by Young Poet(2014), follows the two lovers who meet and say goodbye without much narrative. The two spend time at the park while the mood, illustration and the weather correspond to their relationship changes. This is a minimal fable about the essence of a relationship that experiences its ups and downs and also the beginning and the end of a love in the flow of time. [JANG Byungwon]
