The painter Luce spends the summer in a secluded countryside in southern France every year, and invites alcoholic writer Max Bernier, his lover and three friends this summer. The three friends attack an armed truck and steal gold from it. Subsequently, they ask Max to hide them until the end of summer. And a calm vacation place becomes a battlefield. ''Let the Corpses Tan'' transforms a typical crime story into an avant-garde experimental film through beautiful and extraordinary mise-en-scene and editing. Helene Cattet and Bruno Forzani always pursue an active film style, with shots, editing and visual design including artistic significance. Wild montage works in the scene of gunfights and violence, and most scenes reject banality. In the mixed genre film that crashed Noir, Giallo Horror, and Macaroni Western, the style is the content.
