Review

The film convincingly shows the changing China in development and what the unchanging humanity is as it quietly follows the life of a husband and wife from the 1980s until now. The film silently emphasizes the value of people in the loss of traditional value ─ the village scenery where the couple lives, the son who returned after he left home, visiting an acquaintance who is under medical treatment. Director Wang Xiaoshuai directs a realistic style through extreme long shots and intensely natural acting. [LEE Sang-yong]
