Review

The River is the "one-man film" which is written, filmed, directed and edited by Emir Baigazin. It is a story about five brothers disciplined by a strict father in the barren wilderness. After Kanat, a cousin from the city, brings tablet PC game which is too tempting to refuse, the brothers resist against fatherhood. Suggesting the difference between collectivism and individualism, socialism and capitalism, the film shows an ensemble of minimalistic composition, framing, magnificent filming and music.
