Between Two Cinemas
Director_ Ross LIPMAN
USA, UK, Canada 2018 85min DCP color/b&w feature Documentary
Review

The film is a new one by Ross Lipman, who visited Jeonju with Notfilm (2015). Between Two Cinemas reveals unknown sources about Stan Brakhage and Andrei Tarkovsky, while the former film has dealt with the gap between cinema and reality along the traces of Samuel Beckett and Buster Keaton. For this film, he also collaborates with musical artists such as Mihaly Vig in charge of music for director Bela Tarr and the pioneer of synthesizer Patrick Gleeson, reassembling and recreating the gaps between two cinemas.
