Review

The film tells the story of the unknown death of Ësáasi EWEERA who was the king of Equatorial Guinea, a Spanish colony in 1904. The directory tracks the situation like a detective through historical documents, rather than adopting the typical documentary form that puts interviews and footages together. The recording scene, that looks like the process of preparing a radio show or soundbook, turns text into sound, discovers documents and images different from official history. The visuals repeatedly come and go like the history of time that goes back and forth between the past and the present. [Sung MOON]
