''Navajazo'' is an essay documentary about people living close to the border, trying to survive in the hostile world. This film is a model of a hybrid between documentary and fiction filled with unpleasant and dirty scenes. The Mexican director Ricardo Silva, reveals the reality of the middle class life in Mexico filled with violation, sex, drugs and alcohol. The plot of the movie is very poetic and free. The stories of a homeless drug addict couple, two men involved in street fighting and an American porn director interviewing an actress are all not necessarily related but somehow flow. In the movie you will spot melancholy moments where the characters want back what they have lost and reminisce their past. The will to pursue life in the most severe conditions touches your heart in a certain part of the movie. The title ''Navajazo'' means “a stab” in Spanish. (JANG Byungwon)
