Catherine BREILLAT

Born in Bressuire, France. Studied acting in Paris, and worked as an actor and writer. She made her feature debut with Une Vraie Jeune Fille(1976). Fat Girl(2001) won several awards from Rotterdam and Berlin. Her last film The Sleeping Beauty(2010) won C.I.C.A.E. Award at Venice. She became famous for her distinctively personal films on sexuality, gender trouble and sibling rivalry.
