During the Holocaust, in concentration camps, some people risked their lives to take pictures and tell the truth. Now, at the camp, which has become a monumental tourist destination, the director sets out to find the location where the photo was taken. However, his purpose in this film is not to represent the pain of the past, but to keep that history present. Growing up learning about film and gaze through Night and Fog (1955) and Shoah (1985), he tries to change the direction of our gaze and break the self-evidence of the Holocaust story with the secretly took photos. The process of tracing the location where the prisoners recorded the moment reminds us of how we should look at history. [Sung MOON]
