The writer Heberto Padilla was a defender of the revolution until things began to change and so did his views and opinions. His criticism of the government eventually landed him in jail. But shortly after his imprisonment, his conviction was acquitted and Padilla, in a public conference, admitted that his statements against the government had been a mistake.
