In some places on Earth, you have to choose a cable car over a bus or subway as a means of transportation. This film is set in the western mountainous region of Georgia where people have no choice but to rely on two cable cars that run up and down a steep valley every 30 minutes. When a relative who worked as a cable car driver passes away, Iva takes over and develops a crush on another driver Nino from afar. Their encounter every 30 minutes gradually develops from playful flirtation into love. In this film, a sweet fairy tale unfolding in a limited space, the director removes dialogue to allow his characters to express their emotions in different ways, such as playing a turn of chess every 30 minutes or playing the violin and trumpet. The music by the Icelandic singer-songwriter Sóley and British musician Malcolm Arison also adds charm to this quirky yet lovely film. (CHUN Jinsu)
