Review

In 1994, a fire started out of nowhere at a theater where children were performing. 323 children were trampled by the cadres who came to watch their performance and died in the fire. The parents still mourn for the children they have lost, 17 years after the accident.

DIRECTOR
Xu Xin
Born in Taizhou, China in 1966, is an independent documentary filmmaker based in Beijing and Nanjing. Graduated from fine arts faculty, he worked on oil paintings and photography in his early years. His documentaries focused on grass-roots existences in China, especially the social vulnerable groups and minor communities. In his eyes, the act of documenting itself is a way to engage in the construction of History.
