Nicola Piovesan was born in Venice, Italy, on the 1st of April, 1979. In 1999 he moved to Bologna, where he graduated from DAMS cinema school in 2004. He began directing short films in the autumn of 2001. In 2011 he achieved great success among public and critics alike with his short film The Beardless Garibaldi, and in 2012 he won a Jury Special Mention at Cinemambiente with his last documentary Lagunemine. In 2011 he moved to Helsinki, Finland, where he lives up to date working as a freelancer in the field of video and multimedia for clients from all around the world.
