The 27th JEONJU IFF·The 18th JEONJU Project Award Winners Announced
- International Competition Grand Prize: The Night Is Fading Away (Ezequiel SALINAS, Ramiro SONZINI)
- Korean Competition Grand Prize: The Summer That Slipped Away (LEE Seonyeon), Korean Competition for Shorts Grand Prize: Touch, took (TAE Jiwon)
- 19 Awards at the 27th JEONJU IFF and 18 at the 18th JEONJU Project
The 27th JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF, Festival Co-Directors MIN Sungwook and JUNG Junho) announced the award winners of both the 27th JEONJU IFF and the 18th JEONJU Project at the Awards Ceremony held on Tuesday, May 5, at Jeonbuk National University Samsung Arts Center.
This year’s festival presented 236 films from 54 countries, offering a diverse program to audiences. At the Awards Ceremony, a total of 37 awards were presented, including 19 from the JEONJU IFF and 18 from the JEONJU Project.

The International Competition jury consisted of Mark PERANSON (producer), Pascale BODET (director), TSUCHIDA Tamaki (Programmer of YAMAGATA International Documentary Film Festival), SHIM Jaemyung (CEO of Myungfilms), and YIM Soonrye (director). The Korean Competition jury included Didi WU (Director of Broadway Cinematheque), Stefan IVANCIC (Programmer of Locarno Film Festival), and LEE Hae-young (director).
For the Korean Competition for Shorts, the jury members were KO Asung (actor), Daniel TURNER (Film Programmer of Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA)), and LEE Wonsuk (director). The FUJIFILM KOREA Awards were judged by film critics PARK Inho, HUH Namwoong, and SON Sinae. The NETPAC Awards jury included Boodee KEERTHISENA (director), RYOO Hoon (director), and CHOE Equan (Professor of Soongsil University).
JEONJU Project is the flagship industry program of the JEONJU IFF, supporting film projects across the entire filmmaking process from development to production and distribution, while fostering collaboration between emerging projects and global industry professionals. The 18th JEONJU Project was held over three days, from May 3 to May 5.
The JEONJU Lab jury consisted of KIM Sehun (producer | SEMOSI), YOON Dan-bi (director), JEONG Jae-eun (director), and JEE Hyewon (director), while MIN Sungwook (Festival Co-Director | JEONJU International Film Festival) served as the jury for JEONJU Lab: Shorts.
The Work-in-Progress jury included KANG Kimyung (CEO of Triple Pictures Inc.), ARAKI Keiko (Festival Director of Pia Film Festival), and Ryan CHENG (Programme Director of Kaohsiung Film Festival).
Work-in-Progress Advisors were Stanley KWAK (CEO of INDIESTORY Inc.), Roberto CUETO (Programmer of San Sebastian International Film Festival), Ed LEJANO (Artistic Director of QCinema International Film Festival), JUNG Taewon (General Manager of Business Strategy Planning & Distribution at JINJIN Pictures), and JU Hee (Vice President of ATNINE FILM Co., Ltd).
The Awards Ceremony was attended by Festival Chairperson WOO Bumki, Festival Co-Directors MIN Sungwook and JUNG Junho, members of the jury, filmmakers, actors, and guests. Festival Chairperson WOO Bumki congratulated the award winners, stating, “This honor recognizes not only the results, but also the countless unseen efforts, challenges, and dedication to the art behind them.”
The 27th JEONJU International Film Festival will continue through Friday, May 8, featuring a wide range of programs and events across the Film Street and the city of Jeonju. The festival will conclude with the Closing Ceremony at Jeonbuk National University Samsung Arts Center.
