French scholar Béatrice Courte comes across a mysterious story while working on her research on memories. In the 1950s, a Benedictine monk claimed to have witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus Christ through a machine that stores the memories of everyone around the world. At the time, his claim had initiated an uproar. This story—which could be true or fictional—is buried in the memories of the people who are connected to old documents, magazines, and the mysterious machine. While digging through the case, Courte gets more than just her career threatened as she tries to unveil the truth. This film, which is in between a suspense film and a detective film, takes place mostly in the library. Jack Auen and Kevin Walker shoot with a 16mm camera to create a sense of intensity in the cinematography, while the usage of found footage works to dramatically imagine a conspiracy that the spirits of writers like Jorge Luis Borges and Umberto Eco are wandering around.
