Born in Jeonju, South Korea, 1963. His magnificent debut feature film Christmas in August (1998) became a success at the box office and among critics. He has directed One Fine Spring Day (2001), April Snow (2005), The Last Princess (2016), Forbidden Dream (2018). A Normal Family (2022), which has been invited to major international film festivals, awaits an upcoming release.
