Review

Based on the forced relocation policy for the Cherokee in the 1800s, the director traces back her own family history in this unique documentary. The director combines historical images and documents, her family´s correspondences, and interviews to find her roots and the unkept promise of “Free Land.”

Minda Martin

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Minda received her Bachelors of Arts degree from University of Arizona in creative writing, classics, and media arts. She then received her Masters of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts in film/video production. She is currently an Associate Professor in the department of communication at California State University, San Marcos.
