He made a short film Eleven (2000) which was invited to the Venice IFF. He debuted with a feature Tang Poetry (2003) which was premiered at the Locarno IFF. And his following films also garnered numerous awards and invitations at acclaimed international film festivals. He has directed many films including Ode to the Goose (2018), Fukuoka (2019) and Yanagawa (2021).
