Born in 1952 in Vienna, Austria. Studied journalism and film directing at Vienna University. He started his career with award-winning documentaries such as [#i_]Good News[_i#](1990), [#i_]Animal Love[_i#](1995) and [#i_]Models[_i#](1998). His first feature film, [#i_]Dog Days[_i#](2001) and [#i_]ParaDiSe: Faith[_i#](2012) won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. His works often blur the boundaries between documentary and fiction.
