Elite ZEXER graduated from Tel Aviv University, where she received both a BFA and MFA, the latter in film directing. Her previous films include the shorts [#i_]Take Note[_i#](2008), which won the Best Fiction Film Award at the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival, and [#i_]Tasnim[_i#](2010). She also directed the documentary short [#i_]Fire Department-Bnei Brak[_i#](2010) before helming her first feature, Sand Storm in 2016
