Each year in Galicia, one of the oldest forms of carnival is celebrated. Characters wear spectacular costumes, which include showy masks and a belt from which hang large and sonorous cowbells, and they run through the village, beating the visitors with their whips.

Eloy Domínguez SERÉN

Born in Simes, Galicia. He studied in Salamanca, Milan, and Barcelona, where he graduated in 2010. Before debuting as a filmmaker, he worked as a film critic for both radio and press, becoming a member of the Youth Jury at the 67th Biennale di Venezia in 2010. He has directed Jet lag (2014), No Cow On the Ice (2015), and Hamada (2018).
