Serenely and elegantly, Transit depicts the determination, overwhelmingness, and loneliness of the characters at their turning points. It’s fascinating to see how the director instills with her sophisticated flair an elegant mood to the film location that has been degraded to a pervasive commotion drama and the way she discovers fine mechanics of relationships. In the time of waiting given to the individuals behind the camera, not only the possibility of solidarity is permeated but also discrimination and exclusion that are condoned by collectivist cultures. When such uncanny alienation is reborn as a spectrum of light at the fingertips of the transgender lighting crew, the aesthetic inspiration ruffles brightly in contrast to the shadow of solitude that was muddying the entire film.
