The Nth Room case seems to have had a huge impact on Korean independent films. Jeong-sun is also a film made under the influence of the incident that angered Korean society. The main character, Jeong-sun, is going to marry off her daughter, whom she has raised alone through hardships. At a food factory where she works as a pastime, she meets Young-soo, a man who looks lonely. She frequently visits his motel room, and soon their relationship becomes known to those around them. Shortly after Young-soo filmed Jeong-sun dancing and singing in underwear with a cell phone, people start talking about her while watching the video. One of the most impressive scenes in the film is when her daughter says she will solve this problem herself, and Jeong-sun shouts, “It's all my business. I'll take care of it.” This scene, a mixture of her upset, disappointment in her daughter, and dignity, leads to Jeong-sun's decisive action. [MOON Seok]
