Daniela struggles with sleep disorder and periodic anxiety, leading her to repeatedly leave and return to cities. Along the way, she meets strangers with whom she discusses books, papers, and human relationships. Despite knowing little about each other's past and context, they bond over shared experiences by rooming together, attending parties, and collecting personal items left at an ex-boyfriend's place on their friend's behalf. These nomadic individuals prefer face-to-face conversations and walking in parks, which may seem outdated but serve as spiritual practices that sustain their lives. As the seasons change, relationships begin and end, but their way of life remains consistent as they move to new cities. Outside Noise, which depicts an attempt to escape the world's noise, stands out for its natural and realistic conversations made possible by the active participation of non-professional actors. This is the third feature film by Ted Fendt, who has developed his distinct style that incorporates analog-textured 16mm imagery and wandering characters. (Sung MOON)
