The concept of a ‘love fee’ imposed on those with a loving heart brings attention to the challenges faced by the N-Po generation—a new term for the generation of people who have given up on numerous things in Korea. In the film, the protagonist Won-sang uses the love fee as an excuse to visit his ex-lover Minjung, which raises concerns about stalking. While the film’s development may feel awkward and uncomfortable, it effectively reveals lingering emotions between the two characters. Still, it doesn’t feel pleasant to see how remaining feelings are valued in monetary terms. (RYU Su-dong)
