The main character's home, Nayeong, looks ordinary when the first scene shows the inside of the house full of affection. Her family seems to enjoy simple happiness: Nayeong, who makes a small-town newsletter; her mother, Jungok, who runs a tool store; and her teenage brother, Sungun, who is gentle compared to other teenagers. However, as Jungok prepares for her new marriage and announces that she will sell the current house, conflicts hidden on the surface emerge. Director BAE Duri's Dolphin is a film that shows the secret story of this family that was gathered up like dust in the corner of the house and, at the same time, explores the possibility of a new kind of family or a new existence of a family. The process of Nayeong, afraid of change for a reason, moving forward gradually is also described kindly. Dolphin is also a praise song for bowling. Bowling appears in the film as a means of consoling Nayeong's life and as a metaphor for the world, as in the line, "The good thing about bowling is that the pins keep coming down regardless of whether they are knocked down or not." Unlike typical family dramas, the main characters rarely make loud noises, and the reasonable story is impressive. The combination of actors such as Kwon Yuri, Gil Haeyeon, and Hyun Wooseok is also smooth. (MOON Seok)
