What constitutes a normal family? Everyone knows it takes tremendous work to keep a family going. At least it takes a selfless member to make it work. We don't realize its workload, especially when a mom or a dad is the one who carries it. Bubble sets off with the lack of a mother. The daughter, Yunjeong, struggles to support his sick dad and troublemaker brother, working more than she can manage after graduating high school. Her father, who is immature, incompetent, and even kind-hearted, is contrary to our previous generation, who was portrayed as a drunkard and patriarchal violence. He is much easier to sympathize with but a pathetically non-functioning family member. The film drives Yunjeong to the edge, testing her limits. Yet she keeps her family going because "we don't get to choose our family." It's not that different from how we live. So I like it. (KIM Hyunchoul)
