Director Ana VAZ unveils her first feature film after a series of outstanding experimental shorts. As with her previous works, the boundaries between reality and fiction and those between genres are blurred. The film appears to be an ethnographic documentary at first, then turns into a horror film, but these boundaries also become indistinct as it transforms into an experimental film. In Brasilia, the night becomes a perfect scenario where architecture and animals are the main characters. With the use of 16 mm film, the director captures unfamiliar aspects of the city and, at the same time, transforms daily life into a cinematic space. (Sung MOON)
