Dad's Beddy has a fascinating story, and its characters find themselves in a loosely yet inevitably connected predicament. More than anything, the film boasts strong emotional power. Two cousins who both lack fathers have a hard time supporting each other. Instead, they keep their distance from each other or cross each other's paths, which seems representative of the film's particular attitude. Though their specific situations differ, the characters share a desperate pain which prevents them from approaching each other. The portrayal of this tenuous relationship makes the growing pains felt by the characters feel very authentic.
