Blossom Again, the second film from director Jung Jiwoo. was not well received at the time of its release. The story is quite complicated and the apparent love story between a 30-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy did not receive much support. The story of Blossom Again is quite twisted. In-young (Kim Jungeun), a 30-year-old teacher at a private academy, falls in love with Lee Suk (Lee Taesung), a 17-year-old student, who does not only have the same name but also looks similar to her first love. Soon after, a 17-year-old girl, In-young (Jung Yumi) appears and sees Lee Suk. Then, a 30-year-old man, Lee Suk (Kim Jun-seong), the 30-year-In-young’s real crush, appears. The story unfolds as the two In-youngs and the two Lee Suks, and another character intertwine. Their relationship is difficult to understand logically and is further confused by the fantasy elements. Nonetheless, what is clear is that this incomprehensibility does not hinder the beauty of the film. In fact, Blossom Again demonstrates the true magic of cinema in its ability to make an inexplicable world understood and convincing. (MOON Seok)
