People gather in an old theater. Park Syeyoung's after hours unfolds across ambiguous temporal states. Yul, a clerk at Gwangju Theater, waits for the next shift worker, who never arrives. The theater is already closed, yet no one comes to replace Yul, leaving Yul seemingly suspended in the space. Meanwhile, unfamiliar visitors appear. After all the screenings have ended, one man insists on showing a film, while another claims that the Earth is flat. They linger in the theater, engaging in fragmented and often incoherent conversations. Yul struggles to follow their exchanges, as their speech remains unclear and disjointed. Nevertheless, Yul is drawn into a prolonged discussion about whether the Earth is flat or round. Within this aging theater, the boundary between waiting and acting gradually dissolves. The time spent waiting for the next shift, preparing for what follows after closing, and deviating from the established schedule begins to overlap. In this suspended state, the film flickers on the screen and fades again, amid boisterous, nonsensical chatter. (KIM Byeonggyu)
