Can friendship be formed simply by spending time together? After School observes the fragile dynamics of friendship through the conversations of three boys walking home from school. Once they pass the school gates and slip out from under supervision, they begin to define friendship in their own ways—sometimes arbitrarily—as they search for what 'being buddies' might mean to them. The camera closely follows their shifting conversations, bumping shoulders, and the loose web of relationships that drifts together and apart.
