There is a family who immigrated to Vancouver, Canada from Hungary. Jeremy, the first born of this family of two parents and four children, is an uncontrollable and incomprehensible child. Despite giving him love, care, medical attention, and counseling, nothing seems to get through to him. Because of Jeremy, the family is always walking on thin ice, and his sibling Sasha grows more wary over time. Blue Heron is the feature debut of Sophy Romvari, and the film is based on the filmmaker's own family. The healing Romvari couldn't find in reality is achieved through the medium of cinema. The filmmaker reconstructs unresolved childhood anger and sadness she felt since the '90s when she immigrated to Canada until her adulthood. Through the reenactment of the memory into a film, she offers consolation and love to her family. The imperfections of a person make them human, but pain and love coexist because of it. If there is anything one cannot find the reason or answer, it must be about the human mind. (Sung MOON)
